Bluejay

I see you perched on the tree
checking the perimeter for cats lurking.
The feeder below, inviting you down
but you, ever cautious,
make sure that none are about.
Suddenly the sparrows swarm in,
eagerly eating the seed offered.
They flit and flap, and fly about,
scattering seed as they cover the feeder.

Throwing caution to the wind,
down you fly,
eager for your share of the offerings.

You find treats on the ground,
seeds from the tallow above,
a seed so large,
from my window, I see it in your mouth.

I watch you prance, a friend joining you.
Your perky crest and colorful plumage,
your morning dance brings pleasure
as I ponder my coming day.
over my first cup of coffee.

We Are a Court

Songs show the way …

Our songs and stories reveal the DNA of our spirit.  Andrew Fletcher told us “I know a wise person who believed if a person was permitted to write a few key songs of a nation, he would not care who wrote the laws of the land.

Songs of our world, or love song of ‘hearts’ not for sale.

A rewrite of a song for St. George’s Court

We Are a Court

There comes a time
When we heed a certain call
When the Court of St George must come together
There are people dying next door
There are people hurting & needing you and me
Oh, It’s time to lend a hand….

The Beatles were asked to provide a song with a message. It could easily be understood by everyone. They choose all we need is love, love, love.

Amazing what we can do when we assume people know or can discover together when  we seek common ground.
